Version Check

# cat /etc/SuSE-release
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 (x86_64)
VERSION = 11
PATCHLEVEL = 2

# rpm -qa | grep -i sles-release
sles-release-11.2-1.538
sles-release-DVD-11.2-1.234

IPs and Routing

SLES is similar to Red Hat in networking configuration. Given that you have a standard eth0 interface and need to configure an additional eth1 with static routing the work is very similar.

/etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-eth1
BOOTPROTO='static'
STARTMODE='auto'
NAME='82545EM Gigabit Ethernet Controller (Copper)'
BROADCAST=''
ETHTOOL_OPTIONS=''
IPADDR='10.142.119.240/27'
MTU=''
NETWORK=''
REMOTE_IPADDR=''
USERCONTROL='no'
/etc/sysconfig/network/ifroute-eth1
# DESTINATION    GATEWAY         NETMASK          INTERFACE
10.191.192.0/18  10.142.119.225  255.255.255.224  eth1
